    This will be the documents required for the last visa update.
    By the end of next year, I might be in somewhere else.

    You can find additional information about temporary worker (H) visas/TN visa/TD visa on the U.S. Embassy website, www.asktheconsul.org (English) or www.usavisas.org (Korean).
    Required Documents

  • A signed passport valid for more than six months.
  • A completed and signed Nonimmigrant Visa Electronic Application (E-form DS-156 http://korea.usembassy.gov/downloadable_forms2.html) with photo (50mm x 50mm, white background, taken within the past six months) for each applicant.
  • A completed Supplemental Nonimmigrant Visa Application (DS-157) for each applicant.
  • A receipt from the Shinhan Bank for the MRV fee for each applicant. The fee may be paid at any of the bank's branches in Korea.
  • The original Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Notice of Action (I-797) showing H petition (I-129) approval. Photocopies or notarized copies are unacceptable.
  • A copy of I-129 with supporting documents.
  • A letter from your U.S. petitioner confirming your activity/employment/participation after arriving in the U.S.
  • Documents confirming your abilities or qualifications for the task in the U.S. (certificates, licenses, university degree, resume, etc.)
  • Korean income tax document, if you have been working in Korea.
  • Entry/Exit record from Korean Immigration.
  • Notice of Appearance (G-28) if represented by a lawyer.
  • A courier service receipt from DHL Ilyang: 1588-0002 or Hanjin: 1588-0011.
  • If applying with family members, a Family Census Register (FCR) as proof of the relationships.
  • If applying separately from the principal applicant, family members must also include a clear photocopy of the principal applicant's passport and H visa.
  • A certificate of enrollment and transcripts of school age dependents
  • For former F visa holders only: If you did Optional Practical Training, please provide a copy of the employment authorization card.

    All non-English language documents must be translated into English. All applications and standardized forms can be downloaded from the U.S. Embassy website, www.asktheconsul.org (English) or www.usavisas.org (Korean).

    You will be interviewed and finger scanned at the time of your appointment.
